    Position Summary

    This role will be responsible to assist in planning, assigning and directing all activities within the department.

     

    Organizational Relationship

    Position reports directly to the Supervisor of Machine Room - UltraCraft Cabinetry

     

    Position Summary: 

    Responsible for assisting the department manager in the supervision of operational activities in the machining area in accordance with departmental policies, procedures, and standards to achieve established production schedules and desired quality levels.  

     

    Accountabilities: 

    • Assists with supervising the activities and personnel engaged in:
      • Material receipt, pulling for orders and inventory control
      • All machining including cutting, banding & drilling operations.
      • Putting away of product.
      • Inspection and distribution of work
    • Assists department manager to achieve department, plant, and corporate goals for safety, quality and productivity.
    • Promote clean, safe work areas throughout the plant by continuously checking for hazardous conditions.
    • Assists with consistently administering company policies and practices regarding attendance, performance, etc.
    • Interprets, applies, and/or enforces all company policies, programs, rules, regulations, and safety rules.
    • Assists with Implementing and sustains the Masterbrand finishing guidebook where applicable.
    • Maintains employee morale by portraying a positive image of the company.
    • Communicates with employees on a regular basis.
    • Assists with allocating daily staffing needs by reviewing workload requirements and initiate appropriate action.
    • Assists in the training and coaching of both new and existing associates within their department to ensure that employees are performing job responsibilities effectively.
    • Expected to participate in activities such as training and safety programs in order to enhance the overall effectiveness of the work area(s) involved. 

    Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

    • Maintains the technical and leadership skills required to effectively administer the production process.
    • Strong analytical, problem solving, delegation and conflict resolution skills.
    • Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Must be adaptable to change and have the ability/desire to make a difference.
    • Solid math skills and measurements are essential.
    • Mechanical aptitude is a plus.
    • Minimum of 2-4 years lead experience preferred in manufacturing environment.

      Experience & Education

    • Minimum of 2-4 years as a Lead or relevant experience.
    • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
    • Knowledge of CNC equipment a plus.
