  • Position Profile

    Position Summary:

    The Capital Assets Financial Analyst will support the capital asset group and all associated activities.  The successful candidate will complete daily accounting tasks as well as strategic analysis. The position requires a background in accounting and finance with the ability to work as part of a small team to prioritize and complete multiple tasks.

    Organizational Relationship:
    As part of the Capital Assets Operations Finance team this position will report to Capital Assets Sr. Supervisor

    Accountabilities:

    • Capital expenditure requests processing
    • Processing Capital Invoices marking taxable or exempt
    • Account analysis and reconciliations
    • Journal entry preparation and processing
    • Monthly financial close support
    • Asset transfers capitalization disposals cost adjustments/additional spend depreciation runs & tie out assist with close deck preparation CIP tie out monthly and to balance sheet report cash flow spending for entire company
    • Assisting with monthly forecasts of capital spending
    • Asset tag administration / project set up
    • Lead yearly Asset Audits
    • Cash Flow Analysis & journal entries for BPC reviews on a monthly basis
    • Manage Idle Asset Log and reserves
    • Tie out CIP & report cash spending weekly/monthly
    • Periodic and ad-hoc reporting

    Knowledge and Experience:

    • Bachelor degree in Finance or Accounting
    • 2 years of accounting or financial analysis experience
    • Knowledge of general accounting fixed asset accounting experience beneficial
    • Ability to query manipulate and interpret data (Hyperion)
    • Self-motivated in a results oriented management culture
    • Proven prioritization experience in a multi-tasking environment
    • Strong grammar and MS Office (primarily Excel & Word) skills
